When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is.
Oh my God, I freaking loved this book. It was like the most epic, amazing book ever. I could seriously gush over Daemon all day long. Thank you Darian for pushing me to read this book. I loved it!
Daemon was freaking hot. I mean from the moment he first appeared on the page I wanted to wrap him up and bring him home with me. I seriously consider driving to WV to search for Daemon. Screw Katy, she can find herself another hot Daemon.
Katy and her mom moved to WV after Katy's dad died. Her mother thought they needed a change of scenery. Katy is one of us. She loves to read and she blogs about the books she's read. Plus she gets excited about the books she's received in the mail. I do this all the time! I love the feeling of getting a book in the mail. The one good thing about moving to WV she lives next to a hot guy an her brother. Dee is excited to meet Katy and become friends with her, but Daemon on the other hand is not excited to meet Katy. He just sort of blows her off a little.
I tend to hate it when the guys are jerks right off the bat, but there was just something about Daemon that made me like him. He just had this presence about him.
I loved Dee, I want a friend like Dee. She was just... epic. That's all I have to say about Dee.
West Virginia, what can I say about West Virginia. I have family there that I haven't seen in like FOREVER, and I miss them sooooo much. But let's face it, I would never ever move to West Virginia. No offense to everyone from West Virginia, it's not that I don't like the state, because I love West Virginia, but it has to many mountains for my taste. I hate feeling like I'm trapped and just being surrounded by mountains, I feel claustrophobic. I like places that are warm and have beaches.
So to wrap up this nice little blog post I am going to say: READ THE BOOK! It is freaking amazing and you need to read it. It should be next on your to-read-list. Finish whatever book you're on and then pick this up. Buy it or get it from the library I don't give a flying rat's ass, just get the book.
Anyway here's a little overview just in case you didn't feel like listening to me ramble on and on about Daemon and the book.
And then
there is Fate. Being destined to become some kind of supernatural
electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's
other half is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside
her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their
connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of
the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex
feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and
sacrifice--for her. When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack
students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any
threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the
Apollyon--and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters
didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything
to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude--or
killing her. When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever
be undone.
I'm not broke anymore! If you remember from my review of Half-Blood, the first book in the series, I said I was broke and had to wait until I wasn't broke to get the rest of the series. So I'm finally not broke and was able to get them, which made me broke again, but I really don't care because I love these books.
So I'm totally on a Jennifer L. Armentrout binge. I just got the whole series and few days ago and I've been reading a book a day. That is how in love with this series I am. This is like the best friggin' series ever.
This is the second book in the Covenant Series, and I normally always hate the second books in a series. I don't know why I just do. It's like it has to live up to the expectations of the first, but somehow always lets you down not this one! I thought it was just as good as the first book if not better.
So in this book Alex's crush on Aiden gets bigger, but she also sort of starts having feelings for Seth. (I'll get to what I think of Seth in the next section.) Daimons are running amuck, somehow they get into the Covenant and start killing students. Alex must go to the Council to testify what happened with her mother at the end of the last book. I'm not going to tell you anymore on that just in case you haven't read the last book. The Council, some of them at least, want to put Alex on the Elixir, and they come close several times. Then there's Head Minister Telly, I really hate him, so does Alex. I have a feeling Alex was thinking this:

Anyway at the end it is very climatic and basically the gods declare war on the Apollyons. Alex has to flee, and Aiden breaks a law for her. Yeah that was just, um, wow. I was totally flipping out on that one. So was Alex, she didn't want him to do it, but he did it anyway. I was thinking, "Damn girl he really loves you." It was all so heart warming.
Now onto the boys... They are both totally swoon worthy.

She took the words right out of my mouth. I fell a little more in love with Seth in this one, but Aiden is still on top, and he will always be on top. But at the same time I think that Seth is good for her, but he's up to something I know it. Seth is a conniving SOB, but I love him anyway. He's also kind of stalkery and it gets on Alex's nerves. I would feel the same way too if I had a guy that semi-annoyed me following me everywhere. The whole times Alex is like:

Any who... This book was just perfect. I love this series so much. I'm obsessed with it. Hell, I'm obsessed with all of Jennifer Armentrout's books. They're all just soooooo good. I am having a Jennifer Armentrout binge week. I've read all the Covenant series books, and I'm on the second on for the Lux series.
Today author, Sherry Soule has some exciting news to share with us! She will be publishing a brand new upper YA series: the “Starlight Saga” (paranormal romance with a Sci-Fi concept) with scorching-hot character chemistry and exciting suspense on June 26, 2014.
To help promote this amazing interstellar love story, “LOST IN STARLIGHT,” Sherry is doing this fun promo to share the news with fellow booklovers.
Some of the most ambiguous lyrics take on new meaning when you’re writing a book, even correlating to some of the scenes or giving insight into Hayden and Sloane’s romantic relationship. Sherry has put together just a few of the awesome songs—a collection of her character’s electric tastes in music—mentioned throughout this epic new series in this post. Enjoy!
“Still Into You” by Paramore
“Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons:
“Boom Boom Pow” by Black Eyed Peas
“Titanium” song by Sia
“I'm Not Okay (I Promise)” by My Chemical Romance
“Stay” song by Thirty Seconds to Mars
“Counting Stars” by OneRepublic
“Sugar, We’re Going Down” by Fall Out Boy
“Jar of Hearts” by Christina Perri
“Cello Sonata, L 135” by Debussy
While writing LOST IN STARLIGHT, Sherry listened to this amazing track on a loop, “4 Hours of Emotional Music” composed by the talented, Adrian von Ziegler. She found the melody really set the mood to the type of romantic tale that she wanted to write. At its core, LOST IN STARLIGHT is basically a love story about two lonely hearts finding each other and how their star-crossed relationship changes both of their lives.
VOLUME ONE: Starlight Saga
High school reporter Sloane Masterson knows she has one helluva story when she witnesses hottie Hayden Lancaster bending forks with his mind.
Like any good journalist, Sloane sets out to uncover the truth, even if it includes a little stalking. When the superhuman feats start to pile up and the undeniable heat rises between them, Hayden has no choice but to reveal his secret: he’s an alien hybrid.
They’re as different as night and day—she’s a curvy, purple-haired, horror junkie and he’s a smoking hot, antisocial, brainiac—yet the intense fascination between them refuses to go away. Even at Hayden’s insistence that dating each other is “off limits” and crazy dangerous, their fiery attraction threatens to go supernova.
Now Sloane’s dealing with creepy government agents, über snobby extraterrestrials, and a psycho alien ex-girlfriend out for revenge. After a crash course on the rules of interstellar dating, Sloane must decide if their star-crossed romance is worth risking her own life....
Rating: 4 of 5 stars
Series book: Yes
Will I read the next book: Final in the trilogy

I'm twitching. Actually twitching. The Selection Series was great. It was really satisfying. Satisfying. I both enjoyed reading it, and was disappointed. I started The One and I was determined to stop reading if in fifty pages the selection process wasn't over. Then I got to fifty pages and thought, another fifty pages won't hurt. Then I was at page two hundred and my only thought was that I can't stop reading now, but I'm also really disappointed. The Selection was a really great love story. It wasn't bad, and I would recommend it to a romance fan. It was a good book. But it's so annoying. On that note, let me rant about exactly why I was so incredibly annoyed with this book.

Reason number one:
The amount of time it took for America to finally admit that she actually had feelings for Maxon.
"I carefully tucked my love for Maxon away in my heart, a little afraid of this feeling. Eventually, it would have to be shared, but for now it was my secret."

Three books. Exactly 995 pages. How long did it take for her to admit that she cared about him? 942 pages. What the hell. Seriously. WHAT THE HELL. She was absolutely certain that she loved him on page 84, and yet she kept it a secret until page 270. How indecisive and annoying can you be? This whole book could have been a hell of a lot interesting if you could have just spit. It. Out.

Reason number two:
America made so many bad decisions, starting from the first chapter.
Her very first bad decision in this book was attempting to seduce Maxon. Yes. You read that correctly. Despite the fact that it wasn't really an America thing to do, she put on a slutty dress and got Maxon to come to her room after dinner. The fact that Celeste thought it was slutty and ridiculous meant...BAD IDEA THE DRESS IS ACTUALLY SLUTTY. And how did that end? Maxon laughed in her face. So, the lesson is when you randomly think its a good idea to try and seduce someone, don't.

Reason number three:
I don't understand why I like this series, but I do, and that annoys me.
I feel like this happened to me:

The Selection Series had so many problems. SO MANY. But I still feel like it was the worth the read. I actually recommended the series to a friend the other day. And I can't say that it's bad, but I wanted to destroy these books so many times. And when I finish a series I don't want to be conflicted about if I like it or not.

Overall, The One was a good book in a good series. I would recommend it, but it's not a really serious read. If you're stressed and looking for a quick and slightly fluffy read, go for it. It's incredibly addictive for something that can also be incredibly annoying and you won't regret it.

Sure, I've read the books. I've seen the movies. I know the song about the rainbow and the happy little blue birds. But I never expected Oz to look like this.

Dorothy from this Oz? She's more like a sexed-up, evil Dorothy who, well, needs to die. Lets just be honest. She has no intention of going home and has instead decided to rule and ruin Oz as a Princess. But there's a new girl from Kansas walking the yellow brick road, and she's got pink hair and a major attitude. I loved the book even if it was a little...long(452 pages actually). There are some problems I had with the book, but the positive far out weighs the negative(for once). So get ready for some ranting and some fangirling all in one post.

The Negative:

The main character, Amy Gumm.

So many things to say. So many problems. In the first few chapters, we find out Amy live in a trailer park with her mother who lives off of pills, alcohol, and bugles. Rough life? Yeah, that was made clear when Amy's mom left her alone to face a tornado. But throughout the first part of the book, she was constantly referencing just how crappy her life was back in Bumf**k, Kansas.
"Just pretend you're going down a waterslide at AquaLand, I told myself. It might have made me feel a little better if I'd ever actually been to AquaLand. My mom had never taken me."

Well, thank you Amy. Please remember that you are in a dark and dangerous Oz right now, you've got bigger problems than your lack of trips to amusement parks as a kid. Seriously. I get it. You wont be clicking your heels together any time soon.

The fact that when the opportunity arose, she screwed up her chance to kill Dorothy.
She was alone with Dorothy, magic was blocked, all you had to do is walk up behind her and, you know, stabby stabby. Next time, I recommend not saying a sassy phrase about how you're gonna kill her before you kill her. Kind of clues her off that you're about to kill her.

The Positive:
So one thing I absolutely adored was how dark Oz was. For one thing this was not the scariest thing in the new Oz. There was Dorothy, in all her magic creepiness; then there was the scarecrow, and he liked to experiment on people; and the lion, who fed off fear; and there were so many more creeptastic things. All the main characters in the story were twisted, Wicked became Good, Good became Wicked, and the line got blurred between the two. Dorothy Must Die was also incredibly violent and gruesome. At one point I actually winced from the violence. So fair warning on that.

And then there was Nox.
Wizard boy with a sad past(thanks to Dorothy) who fought for the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked and also had a thing for Amy. It didn't go anywhere really, but they had an undeniable connection and he kissed her (ooohhh). He seemed a little hot and cold, or just cold really, but I think in the next few books things are really gonna heat up.

And then there was Amy's kick-ass transformation.
"Forgiveness can get you places, I guess. But sometimes you need to light a fire"From trailer trash with a rat on her shoulder to pink-haired bad-ass with a magic knife in a few hundred pages. At first I thought that I wouldn't be able to handle this book just because of how much Amy was making references to her crappy life back home, but she grew as the story went along and personally, I value good character development in a book since it happens so rarely.

I have quite a few.. problems with this book. But that doesn't mean it wasn't good. I'm just really picky, and there are a few things that irritate the bleep out of me. But I wouldn't even be posting a review if wasn't good, I would have quit halfway through. And this is a big book, I had plenty of opportunities. That being said, Virals is a great book. And Cooper(the wolfdog) is adorable. I've always wanted a wolf.

Two things that pissed me off about this book. Did you see that? Did it look like I was starting to list something and does it sound wrong because I didn't? That's problem number one. Sentences or phrases that looked like they were missing the first few words. Wrong and annoying to do that, isn't it? You end up adding words in your head. You should be there on the paper. Okay, mini-rant over. The second not so bad thing that still got on my nerves was the usage of slang. Not just regular slang (If there is such a thing). At least in my world. Words like "wicked" and "yo" are no longer groovy anymore. To be fair, they weren't used that much, and those who used them were the main characters and they were supposed to be really nerdy....maybe they didn't know any better?

I'm done being negative, promise. There were good parts of Virals. The most important being plot. A plot like this could have gone horribly wrong. Four teenagers break into a secret lab and rescue a puppy with a deadly disease. Then the start to change. The possibilities of that could have been... disastrous. But, thankfully, Virals did not turn into a trashy werewolf book. All of the reasoning for their change was purely scientific. Purely scientific mumbo-jumbo I will not pretend to understand. Something about viruses. And dogs. Overall, it was a well-written and captivating story-line. One other thing I liked about this book was how the characters were well developed but still have room to develop more. I'm looking forward to more development and more depth in the next few books.

I really want to give this book four stars, but I can't. Every time I type in a four, I cringe a little and can't bring myself to leave it there. Those few things that annoyed the bleep out of me. Stops me every time. But, Virals is still worth the read. It's a good book for someone who just finished a really serious book and doesn't want another super serious read, but also doesn't want a whole lot of fluff. And at The Manor, nothing is as it seems . . .

Lady
Charlotte Edmonds: Beautiful, wealthy, and sheltered, Charlotte feels
suffocated by the strictures of upper-crust society. She longs to see
the world beyond The Manor, to seek out high adventure. And most of all,
romance.

Janie Seward: Fiery, hardworking, and clever, Janie
knows she can be more than just a kitchen maid. But she isn't sure she

rules are broken and secrets are revealed. Secrets that will alter the
Now onto my review.
This book was excellent. I loved it and it reminded me of Downnton Abbey. I'm a huge fan of the show and I'm now into reading anything like it or at least in the same time period as the show. When I saw the cover for this for a moment I thought that it was Lady Sybil or Lady Mary from Downton Abbey.
Lady Sybil:

Lady Mary:

I really liked Lady Charlotte's character. I felt bad for her because of how much her mother was pressuring her to be this proper English Lady and she feels like she can't meet those demands. I could really relate because my mother can be demanding at times too, but not as bad as Lady Charlotte's mother. She also wants to go out and have an adventure. She doesn't want to be trapped in some house married to a man that will keep her at home.
Lady Charlotte is being pressured to marry Lord Andrew or another man of high ranking. The only problem is she's in love (or thinks she's in love with) one of the footman. It's all part of her adventure. And the girl thinks that he actually likes her back. The whole time I'm sitting there looking at the book like:

You could soooo tell that he didn't actually feel the same way about her and that he was just a player.
Let's move on to Janie.
Janie works downstairs in the kitchen, but Charlotte sees Janie and wants to be more like her. Janie sneaks upstairs to talk to Charlotte and be a friend to her. It also ruffles some feathers upstairs and down. The Lady's maid feels like Janie is trying to take her spot as Lady Charlotte's Lady's maid. Charlotte's mother and best friend also don't like the idea of Charlotte hanging out with Janie.
Also people downstairs can't have relationships. It is strictly forbidden. If you're caught having a relationship with anyone you're sacked, AKA fired, and that's because of something that had happened a long time ago. I won't tell you because that would ruin the whole book. But Harry and Janie start to have a relationship towards the end of the book. I ship them.
Then Charlotte's aunt comes to visit, and she's a little unorthodox. She's not like the other Lady's, and Charlotte's mother despises her sister. The whole time they were in a room together I felt like it was Cousin Isobel and Cousin Violet up against one another. Charlotte's aunt is sort of like this for the whole time she was there:

I loved this book I really did. Katherine Longshore writes a good book, and I couldn't put it down for a second. I gobbled this book up like it was nothing. I kind of want a second book, I'm not positive if there is another book or not, but if there is I will read it without a doubt.
Has anyone noticed an abundance of books espionage-y or spy-like books on the shelves lately? Books where the witty and sarcastic main character somehow gets involve in some type of trouble involving intrigue and good looking people? Is that just me? Well, even if it is just me, being the espionage-loving girl I am I'm probably going to read all the spy-related books I can find (With the exception of Etiquette and Espionage because steampunk and I don't mix well). Back to the book on hand. Blond-ops.

Can I just say the title alone makes me want to read it. I mean, Blonde-Ops? Does that not sound fun. You know what they say...Everything's more fun as a blond. Besides that, when you flip to the first chapter the first thing you see at the top of the page is "Tips and Tricks for the Edge-y Girl." On the first page of every chapter there are actual fashion and life tips. I don't know, that just draws me into a book. So there you have it. All I needed was the first page and the cover and I knew I had to read this book. The Barnes and Nobles clerk couldn't check me out fast enough. I fully recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, fun, and surprising read.

Rome, romance. Romance, Rome. Mi scusi, is there anything that fits together better? When in Rome, right? Let me just say, Bec truly knows the meaning of the phrase. She had not one, but two hot guys chasing after her and through it all not once did I get a cheaty vibe. There was Dante, the golden boy who had modeling agents chasing after his messenger vespa (but no, actually. They did). And there was Taj, tall dark and all kinds of mysterious. Oh my heart! Even now I cannot choose. And even though Taj is a bad guy...he stole my heart-pun intended. Two. Hot. Foreign, accent having guys. Good Lord. Sigh and swoon.

Okay, focus. there was something other than the boys... The plot. Right. The plot. Well. Fast-paced in an exciting way, Blonde-Ops is a true page turner. How's that for a one liner? I actually read itin a day, not even stopping to walk. Seriously. I tripped a few times. Not only was it exciting, it was unpredictable and it kept me guessing. Not an easy thing to do. Every time my short attention span strayed--Bam! Another clue, another crash, another kiss. *eyebrow wiggle* You can't go wrong with boys, an international mystery, and killer fashion. Speaking of fashion, that peak into the industry was fabulous- yes I used the F-word.

Now, I urge you to hop on your vespa or less cool means of transportation and go get Blond-Ops. A hacker in Rome with two hot guys and a mystery involving the first lady? What are you waiting for? Not only is it worth the buy, it's worth reading again and again. Ciao!

Hey guys! Ariadne here, and I just wanted to apologize for my lack of book reviews here lately. I've been swamped with school work, and I got sick and got behind in my school work. I'm getting closer to being done, and will be working on book reviews again very soon.
I've also bought several new books that I'm dying to sink my teeth into, and I'll try to finish them up soon.
Again I am sorry, blame my school work, plus I haven't been reading as much lately. I have finished several really good books and will try to post reviews soon.
So. Three more weeks. Twenty-three days. Too many hours. One paper, two projects, and one speech. What does that mean? It means...
It also means every time I pick up a book I remember random facts about Hinduism, crime in Victorian London, and animal cruelty. Also I'm so tired I have literally fallen asleep in the middle of the same chapter over, and over, and over, and......
And I know I make a lot of these types of post.
Excuses..
And February before last when I started Into the Worm's Hole I was all like

Now

Long story short, I will do my best to post as much as possible, but finals are in two weeks and I'm tired and I honestly can't even keep a train of thought long enough to write a comprehensible sentence.
So yeah. Three weeks.
This book was described as the Criminal minds or Lie To Me for YA readers. Well, I've never seen Criminal Minds (Don't judge me) but I've seen Lie To Me. I. Love. That. Show. That, Gossip Girl, and Veronica Mars are the bomb.com (yes I still say that. don't judge me). That being said, I personally think that The Naturals was the atomicbomb.com. That's right I went there. I have no complaints about the writing, and as we all know that's rare. It did remind me a little of the Body Finder Series, but that's only because of the killer's POV or profile or whatever it was.

I think I've made it painfully obvious how much I hate books that don't surprise me, not even a little. If not, well I just did. Anyway, this book totally surprised me. Towards the end, I knew something bad was going to happen because come on it's the end of the book something bad has to happen. I'm talking to the book (yes, out loud. Yes, I got looks. Risks of the book lover life) like on TV you see someone talking to the horror movie saying "don't go into the closet! Don't go into the closet! Oh, well I told you not to go into the closet!" Yeah that was me only I was saying "Don't leave the house, don't leave the house! Oh, you left the house...Now everyone's gonna die." It was an amazing delivery of a suspenseful YA book. I'm completely satisfied with the plot and the amount of suspense. Overall the book was just fantastic.

Besides the main character (and Michael of course, but more on him later), Sloane was my favorite character. I must have a soft spot for the slightly crazy but endearing supportive character. Sloane is a natural with patterns and numbers and statistics, so she's just say random statistics whenever there was an awkward pause. She kind of reminded me of that squirrel from Hoodwinked, and like said squirrel Sloane was absolutely insane when she ingested caffeine. Having five teenagers with the kills to tell who's lying and lie like a pro, read anyone like a book, read your emotions, and someone who's pretty much a walking Wikipedia makes for some entertaining breakfast banter.

Love triangles. Damn you all to hell. ESPECIALLY you unsolved love triangles. There's a special place in hell for you. I hate it when a girl goes back in forth. Cassie was all "I'm so confused I've kissed more guys in 24 hours that I have my whole life." SHAME ON YOU. Not because you've kissed two guys in 24 hours but because you're complaining about it. Stop complaining and choose. You cannot alternate between both and have romantic moments and make kissyfaces at both of them. Personally I think Michael is the right choice(I am totally team Michael, he's on my Official Book Boyfriend list) he was just a more developed, if more mysterious, character. Sure Dean has this sad background and I feel for him but we don't date boys out of pity here Cassie. At least, not more than once. Go to the movies with him, give him the "just friends" speech and move on. To Michael. Because he's better. And funny. Dean all broody and serious. He's got no charm, and besides the points he gets for being "sensitive" he's really not appealing at all. Sorry to those who will unavoidably be Team Dean, but you wrong. I just hope the love triangle is solved in book two. Fingers crosses(ahem Team Michael).

I first read this book when I was 13 or so, and I've read it at least 3 times since. I don't care what anyone says, it may be a little juvenile, it might not be the heart-pumping action you want from a spy book, and the plot may revolve around a normal boy that a spy girl has a crush on. But if you can get through this book without laughing or smiling, then you should really see a therapist and get your heartlytiessness checked out. I enjoy this book more and more every time I read it. Plus this is the only book in the series that isn't super exciting. The series definitely picks up with every book. If you're still skeptical, know that it takes a really short time to read and is perfect to get you out of a book slump.

This book was supposed to be formatted (is that the right word? I'll just go with it) to be a kind of mission report about what happened with her and Josh. So obviously it's in first person (my personal favorite) and it's meant to sound like a 15-going-on-16 year old girl is talking(or thinking, whatever). I've read many books meant to be told by that age and while some can pull it off, some fail miserably. I think Ally Carter did a very good job making the POV sound like a teenage girl. I think the casual writing style made this book all the more enjoyable and fun.

The plot revolved around Cammie's attempt to hide her secret, suburban boyfriend from her classmates(other than Bex, Liz, and Macy) as well as hide where she goes to school from said boyfriend. So, obviously not the most complicated or exciting plot but is still enjoyable and a fun read. Because it goes by so quickly and there are little subplots, by the end you don't feel like you wasted your time. If you're looking for a fun book- look no further. But if you're looking for an exciting/semi serios book- keep on stepping.

I once read an article(if you can call it that) called "How to know if you're living in a YA Novel" (I actually reposted it here, if you want to read it). Anyway, it had a few thing that described this book perfectly. "You or someone you know is named Cam, Cameron, or Cammie" and "Your world’s looking a little bit…whitewashed. And if you do know someone of color, they likely have skin that one might compare to a cafe au lait, mocha, or other beverage currently sold at Starbucks." Well how is Bex described? "Bex had spent six hours on a private jet, but her cappuccino-colored skin was glowing" Kind of irrelevant, but I had to point that out. Anyway... the teachers are probably my favorite part of this book. They each had a different quirky trait about them. Except for Cammie's mom and Solomon, who was basically James Bond (and he's described that way multiple times). My absolute favorite teacher would be Mr. Moskowitz, who was a genius when it came to math and codes, but totally inexperienced in fieldwork and the way he act was just hilarious(you'll get it when you read the book).

Finally the romance! Josh and Cammie- they were head over heels for each other even though most of what Josh knows about Cammie is what she made up over the first couple of times they met up. I loved how it was pointed out multiple times that although these genius Gallagher Girls know all these languages including French, Swahili, and Chinese they had yet to master the language of teenage boys (which I think is a struggle for some of us non-spy girls...Or is that just me? Awkward). The Romance was sweet, if a little Romeo and Juliet.
On the heels of a family tragedy, the last thing Katie Greene wants to do is move halfway across the world. Stuck with her aunt in Shizuoka, Japan, Katie feels lost. Alone. She doesn’t know the language, she can barely hold a pair of chopsticks, and she can’t seem to get the hang of taking her shoes off whenever she enters a building.
Then there’s gorgeous but aloof Tomohiro, star of the school’s kendo team. How did he really get the scar on his arm? Katie isn’t prepared for the answer. But when she sees the things he draws start moving, there’s no denying the truth: Tomo has a connection to the ancient gods of Japan, and being near Katie is causing his abilities to spiral out of control. If the wrong people notice, they'll both be targets.
Katie never wanted to move to Japan—now she may not make it out of the country alive.
So many emotions. So many thoughts. Without spoiling anything my thoughts throughout the book were as follows: "Well, this seems pretty cool, lemme skip sleep tonight," "Oh, I know what's gonna happen...dada da dadaaaa pre-dic-ta-bility," "You should have done it! That was the perfect time! Dammit, Cinder!" "I can feel it...something bad's gonna happen" *Tears* *Insert fight/explosion scene* *Bangs head into wall* "Is it over? Damn." ♬ Onto the next one, onto the next one ♬. Does that make sense? In my head it looks a little

less...crazy. Let me just set one thing straight. I absolutely adored this book. I'm usually not into scifi, but this was perfect. Orginal, exciting, hopelessly romantic.

At no point in this book was I agitated with the writing style. And as we all know, I loves me some knit-picking. I'm a little like a bitter English teacher who's boyfriend just broke up with her because he's allergic to cats. But there's nothing for me to hate on. Cinder actually got me out of my month long reading slump. I love how you can see the traces of Cinderella, but it never overwhelmed the story. The originality was refreshing. Cinder is definitely worth the read. Like seriously. Get it now.

Original, exciting, and all around amazing. Plot wise, this book is golden. It took all my strength to put it down to sleep, eat, and go to school. Basically the plot is as follows: Cinder, a cyborg and our main character, meets the prince when he needs someone to fix his "childhood tutor" android. This sets two things in motion. One, a light romance between Prince Kai and Cinder. The problem? He doesn't know she's a cyborg, which by the way is not the best thing to be in future Beijing. This android also has sensitive information about the Lunar(people who live on the moon and have special mind powers). I can't say much without spoiling, but just so you know, their part in the story is huge. There is also a plague spreading all over the planet that kills people in a matter of days. *Insert ominous music* Cinder may just be the key to the cure. Doesn't that sound intense? It is. And amazing. And perfect.

Even though this took place in China, I always picture the romantic interest as Pepe Toth(AKA the cover model for the Lux series). Not this time! At first I did, but then I realized that Kai deserved his own image. I have officially added him to my book boyfriend list. He was so sweet and he really tried to put other people first. He wasn't an annoying prince who seemed to think he was born to be a jerk to everyone around him. That was in the beginning. For reasons I cannot reveal, at the end I wanted to slap his royal face. That's not to say I don't still love him, I do. Just less. Slightly.

Mallory killed her boyfriend, Brian. She can't remember the details of that night but everyone knows it was self-defense, so she isn't charged. But Mallory still feels Brian's presence in her life. Is it all in her head? Or is it something more? In desperate need of a fresh start, Mallory is sent to Monroe, a fancy prep school where no one knows her . . . or anything about her past. But the feeling follows her, as do her secrets. Then, one of her new classmates turns up dead. As suspicion falls on Mallory, she must find a way to remember the details of both deadly nights so she can prove her innocence-to herself and others.
Ya'll thought I was dead, didn't you? Well, I'm not, just in case that wasn't clear. But while I'm not dead, my computer is. I'm talking blue screen of death, dead. I kind of spilled some milk on the keyboard part and apparently it got down to the mainframe motherboard thingy whatever it's called. Basically the important part of the computer is waterlogged and I'm offline for the foreseeable future. But the good news is (I say as I type on my school's older than me computer so how good can the news really be..) I have quite a few reviews lined up, ready to type. Starting with Hysteria....

Three word to describe this book? Bat. Shit. Crazy. And not in a good way. I was so confused by the end that I regretted buying this instead of See Jane Run which was my second choice at the bookstore. It should have been my first. What was my biggest problem? The promised plot that helped me decide to pick up this book was not the main plot and it's seriously misleading. Also, the delivery was off. Like I was promised this fantastic story and I got....I don't even know what I got. Absolute crap, maybe...A misguided attempt at a suspense novel, definitely.

What was this book supposed to be about? Mallory killed her boyfriend, or well I guess it's to say ex, in self-defense. The problem is, she has no memory of the murder and apparently killing someone doesn't really help a girl's popularity. To solve the whole "everyone knows I killed my boyfriend so no one will talk to me for fear of a literal knife in their back" problem, it's off to boarding school for Mallory. But Uh-Oh someone else knows what happened and supposedly wants her dead. But turns out theres a whole other kind of psycho at the school. More murders and other crazy stuff happens and the motives for everything...um what? I still don't understand. Frankly, the whole bleeping plot is totally insane and a huge let down.

And one of the few thing that I did like about the book, emphasis on few, the romance. I know what you're thinking, "How can there be romance when she killed her boyfriend?" Obviously she's on the market, if for a slightly macabre reason, and an old flame is currently attending the same boarding school. Reid was the perfect boyfriend for Mallory. They had history, he was understanding when he needed to be, protective when necessary, and secure enough so that he didn't seem needy but also doesn't seem arrogant. And thank goodness it wasn't an instant thing. There was a connection, but they didn't immediately change their relationship statuses. How weird would it be if Mallory went from "recently killed my boyfriend" to "taken?"
There's an alien next door. And with his looming height and eerie green eyes, he's hot...until he opens his mouth. He's infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, he lights me up with a big fat bulls-eye. Turns out he has a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal his abilities and the only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to him until my alien mojo fades. If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro alien connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems. I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

In the company of her best friends, Ian and Gwen, she’s bracing the usual turmoil of adolescence and taking all in stride… until the new transfer student, Jackson Matthews, comes walking into her life. He’s arrogant, sarcastic, roguish, devastatingly sexy, and the very last thing Cassie wants to entertain. But when circumstances drive these two together, she finds herself a bit too close for comfort as their bond intensifies. Plagued by unexplainable events, a sudden string of disappearances, and even a cult-related murder, Cassie begins to fear for her life. Is it all just a coincidence that these happenings began when this Casanova strolled into town, or has she in fact fallen for a real lady-killer, or worse?”
I am truly surprised I had never heard of this book! I guess it's what you call "under the radar" but it really should be up there with the rest of the well known paranormal romance books. It's got everything you regular "Twilight" genre book should have: Mysterious hot guy, girl who doesn't know she's pretty, mysterious deaths...all you need for a run-of-the-mill yet enjoyable YA paranormal romance book. And at first I have to admit I wasn't really into it and was really knit-picky with my notes on it, but once it really got started---holy bleep muffins it really got started.

First let me just say, the writing in this book wasn't bad just kind of...annoying. And not for the whole book either, only about a third of it. When was it annoying? WHENEVER CASSIE SPOKE. Not even kidding. If Cassie was expressing her opinion it was with long winded paragraphs and big words that I only use when I'm writing essays. Seriously. WHO TALKS LIKE THAT? Someone I don't want to know that's who. And so does Jack...And Ian..And shoot me that is the most annoying thing. Thank the Lord it wasn't like that for the whole book. After that stopped being the case, I found myself reading non-stop and by the last page I actually repeatedly tried to flip the page. I was reading on my phone and I don't really check to see how many pages are left, so at the very end I actually spent about three minutes tapping the edge of the screen to turn the page. Then I realize that was the last page and I'm just like....Shit. Oh and speaking of the last few pages, one more knit-picky thing about the writing that annoys the hell out of me in any book!?! Mini rant on !?!: You see that!?! I ended the sentence with "!?!" That is the single most annoying punctuation any one can ever use ever. I don't know whether or not its correct grammar but really. !?! is something I use to do in elementary school until I started to read over what I wrote and you can tell that the question mark is lost between the two exclamation points, so the upward inflection we read and speak questions with is gone. It is literally just me yelling at myself in my head when I'm reading. And if !?! is used more than once you can actually lose a whole paragraph or more just because the meaning of the words are gone. Seriously. No.

Oh here's the fun part: the plot. I have very few complaints. Only one actually. One: The plot line promised is pretty much a stereotypical people are getting murdered maybe the main character is next. But my complaint isn't that, my complaint is that the book focuses more on the romance for about half of the book with sprinkles of the actual plot and then a little over halfway through, the plot picks up. What would have been great would be if the plot had jumped a little sooner. Don't get me wrong, I love a good romance but it cannot be the only focus of half of the book. But the good part of this plot? The TWIST! I thought I had it figured out who the bad guy was from the very beginning. And then BAM! It's not who I thought it's.... and then I'm like wait a second...BAM! Is it..Wait no...Yes...It is...No...BAM! Does that make sense? Like I said when this book actually gets started...it gets started.

AHAHAHA CHARACTERS. There's Cassie, there's Ian, there's Gwen, there's Jack, and then all those minor characters that matter but not all that much. At first with Cassie and Ian, their clothes are described and I'm just like...WTF. I actually wrote that in my notes, "WTF?" Ian is wearing what can only be described as a steampunk/gothic/ magician look. And Cassie is wearing leather pants, a leather jacket, a homemade shirt, and stiletto boots. She's 16 going on 17 and I'm pretty sure they're both in maybe 11-12th grade. Maybe it's just my "private school where we all wear awful navy blue, white, gray, or khaki uniforms" side coming out but damn. Even our local senior Gothic theatre geek Kelli doesn't dress like that. And she owns one of those miniature top hats..Ian has an excuse later b ut I just don't understand. Otherwise, I'd say the characters are all pretty well written, my favorite being Gwen. She has a pretty 2D personality but I have a soft side for all those gossip obsessed(not that I can relate to that....*cough*)

Can you say oblivious? As in what Cassie is when it comes to Ian. Theres actually a seen where they are in the ocean, hugging in their underwear. Cassie's just like "best friend" and Ian's all "I love her so much." Honestly....
He's like Patch from Hush, Hush but sightly more...devilish. I can't decide if I'm team Jack or Team Ian. On one hand, Jack is very good at romancing But that's literally his job "Protect and seduce" But he's also a huge jack-ass (ahaha punny). But maybe he has a sweeter side. I don't even know. NEXT BOOK WE NEED YOU NOW.
The note in envelope 3 tells Ginny: Find a starving artist.

Because of envelope 4, Ginny and a playwright/thief/ bloke–about–town called Keith go to Scotland together, with somewhat disastrous–though utterly romantic–results. But will she ever see him again?
Min Green and Ed Slaterton are breaking up, so Min is writing Ed a letter and giving him a box. Inside the box is why they broke up. Two bottle caps, a movie ticket, a folded note, a box of matches, a protractor, books, a toy truck, a pair of ugly earrings, a comb from a motel room, and every other item collected over the course of a giddy, intimate, heartbreaking relationship. Item after item is illustrated and accounted for, and then the box, like a girlfriend, will be dumped.<span style="color: black; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; Kami Glass loves someone she’s never met . . . a boy she’s talked to in her head ever since she was born. She wasn’t silent about her imaginary friend during her childhood, and is thus a bit of an outsider in her sleepy English town of Sorry-in-the-Vale. Still, Kami hasn’t suffered too much from not fitting in. She has a best friend, runs the school newspaper, and is only occasionally caught talking to herself. Her life is in order, just the way she likes it, despite the voice in her head.
The Lynburn family has owned the spectacular and sinister manor that overlooks Sorry-in-the-Vale for centuries. The mysterious twin sisters who abandoned their ancestral home a generation ago are back, along with their teenage sons, Jared and Ash, one of whom is eerily familiar to Kami. Kami is not one to shy away from the unknown—in fact, she’s determined to find answers for all the questions Sorry-in-the-Vale is suddenly posing. Who is responsible for the bloody deeds in the depths of the woods? What is her own mother hiding? And now that her imaginary friend has become a real boy, does she still love him? Does she hate him? Can she trust him?♡<span style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; Are you living in a YA book? One of the funniest post I've read in a while. Try to read it without thinking of a book you've read.

Something strange is going on. Animals are looking at you sideways. Things fall off desks when you walk by. You have a sudden hankering for red meat, and you wake up with muddy feet. Did you recently have a birthday? We bet all this funny business started right after that.

Look in the mirror: Do you have green eyes? If not, does your crush? While less than 2% of the population has green eyes, independent studies have revealed that 90% of them are currently living in a YA novel.

You have next to no adult supervision in your life. Whether your adult guardian (there’s probably only one) is missing, working long hours, off fighting werewolves, or just plain clueless, you’re left to your own devices most of the time. This leaves you free to do activities including but not limited to marrying a ghost, overthrowing a postapocalyptic government, and driving a pickup truck while texting, clutching a giant iced coffee, and thinking soulfully about souls.

Within the past few weeks, two hot, adoring guys have come into your life. If one is a dark-haired bad boy and the other a mischievous yet trustworthy blond, just accept that you’re living in a YA novel now, and cross your fingers it’s a series.

You or someone you know is named Cam, Cameron, or Cammie. Also watch out for names that can be shortened to Kat.

Your world’s looking a little bit…whitewashed. And if you do know someone of color, they likely have skin that one might compare to a cafe au lait, mocha, or other beverage currently sold at Starbucks. (Note: If people are looking even whiter than usual, you may be living in a YA novel about vampires. Or zombies. I’m sorry.)

You have an archnemesis. We hate to break it to you, but most people don’t have to deal with someone who is single-mindedly devoted to ruining their life. This goes double if you were inadvertently responsible for your archnemesis becoming a mutant/losing control of their space colony/falling out of their dress at prom.

You just found out you’re descended from a race of creatures that has something to do with souls. Or angels, or demons, or vampires, or seeking, or protecting, or vengeance, or gods. If your family photo album is actually a skin-bound Necronomicon you found in a cave, you’re probably living in a YA novel.

Your friends keep saying things like, “Either I send him south in handcuffs or in a Chicago overcoat.” Wait a minute…you might actually be living in a noir. Lucky!

"Is death the end . . . or only the beginning?"
Ethan
Wate has spent most of his life longing to escape the stiflingly small
Southern town of Gatlin. He never thought he would meet the girl of his
dreams, Lena Duchannes, who unveiled a secretive, powerful, and cursed
side of Gatlin, hidden in plain sight. And he never could have expected
that he would be forced to leave behind everyone and everything he cares
about. So when Ethan awakes after the chilling events of the Eighteenth
Moon, he has only one goal: to find a way to return to Lena and the
ones he loves.
Back in Gatlin, Lena is making her own bargains for
Ethan's return, vowing to do whatever it takes -- even if that means
trusting old enemies or risking the lives of the family and friends
Ethan left to protect.
Worlds apart, Ethan and Lena must once again
work together to rewrite their fate, in this stunning finale to the
Beautiful Creatures series.
______________________________
I have never cried so much for a series in all my life. Okay well maybe Clockwork Princess, I balled like a baby at the end of that book. But this book gives Clockwork Princess a run for its money. I couldn't make it like ten pages without bursting into tears. I'm a very emotional person what can I say?
So if you've read the blurb you now know that Ethan killed himself to save everyone he loves. No one wanted him to go, but it was something he had to do. When he wakes up in the Otherworld he thinks he's still alive and that it's all just a bad dream of some sort. But when he goes downstairs he finds his mom in the kitchen instead of Amma. It hits him that he really is dead.

He's happy to be back with his mom, I mean who wouldn't be happy to be back with their dead mother? He sends a message to Lena to let her know that he's okay, well as okay as he can be. Then he finds out that he can go back among the living. His mom doesn't want him to do it because he could die, again, but a little more permanently this time though. So he sets out to find the page in The Caster Chronicles were it tells of his death so he can burn it and come home. He needs Lena's help though, and he contacts her and she comes to his rescue.
One part of this book is from Lena's point of view. I liked reading it from her view. I think the authors should write the series over, but this time from Lena's point of view.
In Lena's part of the book she has received a message from Ethan telling her that she need the Book of Moons. The only problem with that is Abraham Ravenwood has the book in his possession. No one likes the idea of going up against Abraham in fight because he is powerful. They do it anyways. Although Macon doesn't know, because Lena knows that he would never let her do this.
John Breed is going to trade himself for the Book of Moons. Since I really haven't told you about John Breed let me tell you about him. He is one bad ass Caster/Incubus. He's a hybrid that Abraham created to take over the world. He can take powers from other Casters and use them as his own. One accidental touch and he has their gifts. He's also Liv's boyfriend. Remember Liv is the British girl from the second book. The one that has feelings for Ethan, or had feelings for Ethan.
Link winds up killing Abraham with a pair of garden shears. They get the book to Ethan so he can trade it with the Gate Keeper so he can get into the Far Keep so he can burn his page. This is going to be hard since the evil guy Angelus wants Ethan dead or as his slave. Ethan gets his page back and burns it and I'm sitting there like:

But when he gets back something happens and I wind up looking like this:

I won't tell you because you won't want to read the books anymore. And you need to because they are really good books.
I was sad to see this series end, but I have good news! There is going to be a spinoff series! The whole series is going to be called Dangerous Creatures and the first book is called Dangerous Creatures. Here's the cover for it:

I can't wait for it to come out! The release date is May 20th, 2014. So only a few more months now!
