Onyx by Jennifer L Armentrout

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we've got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

                                                              Series book: Yes
Will I read the next book: I would feel empty inside if I didn't(meaning YESSS)
Let me start by saying how SWOON WORTHY Daemon is. So swoon worthy, that if he were real I would stalk that boy for the rest of my life. The plot was interesting, an I found myself reading until my eyes could no longer stay open, even if it was slightly predictable(that's why I didn't give it a full five stars). As for the characters, I was super sad that Dee wasn't in this book as much. Neither were Carissa or Lesa, and I missed the humor they added to the book. Onyx was super serious without them...everything was either lovey dovey or super deadly. But Daemon added enough while trying to win over Katy, so that the book wasn't too heavy. Also, Daemon's jack-ass side didn't show as much as in Obsidian...but that's okay! It's better than okay actually...because he was sweet and hilarious and just amazing!

“I always liked you. From the moment you first flipped me off.”

“I could always give you a teaser. You bookish people love teasers, don't you?”

“Crossing the room, he stopped infront of me. 'I'm not going to bite.'
'That's good.'
'Unless you want me to,' He said with a devilish grin.”

“Daemon was a total babe, but he was stab-worthy, which at times zeroed out the babe part. Not always, though.”

“Dog-eared pages were Antichrist of book lovers everywhere.”

Don't you just love how Katy's a total nerd too?
