Holyshitholyshitholyshit. I can't even right now. I believe if you look up the word intense you'd see a picture of this book. 50 pages from the ending I'm like covering my eyes thinking "nonononono" and then 4 pages from the ending I'm yelling "No. NO. NONONO. Omigosh noooo."  Basically I'm having a panic attack and my moms looking at me like I'm crazy. But holy crap that ending. Okay, okay. I'm sorry. I'll stop babbling and get on to the review.

When I read Mafi's books I feel like I'm reading poetry. Poetry with strikethroughs. The writing style is just so unique and intense, it's hard not to get into it. I think there is something that's really emotional and kindof raw and just super amazing to read. I feel like sometimes there were too many words. Like, you don't need to describe everything in so much detail. It starts to make it a little harder to read.

This book was long. 461 pages. But it went by so fast. The plot was well paced, though some times it felt a little bit boring. It was a little typical for a "get ready for war" story line with the occasional twist thrown in.  There was a lot of action that made it interesting. I didn't actually want to put down the book. Despite the predictability it was still fun to read.

This was a book with alot of self discovery for the characters. Even Warner had a completely different side to him. Adam was all tortured and stuff and it was awful reading about him like that. He was in the whole story, but it felt like he wasn't as big a focus. Like, he was important, but not the only thing Juliette had to focus on. I really loved this whole serious side to Kenji too. He was all "look, get over yourself we all have shit going on too. Stop crying about your boyfriend issues, we've got war." I think the story really needed that. Juliette was just way too whiney until the end when she turns kickass. I feel like there needed to be a less serious character to lighten the mood and make the story less intense. Juliette also had to learn to accept herself, and that was a huge part of the book. I'm just hoping cry in the corner Juliette would go away for good in the next book.

Ugh, the romance. It was good. Really good if you like the whole "love triangle with a sociopath" thing. The right answer is staring right in front of her! ADAM. He is not a crazy person. He is amazing! Juliett was being so bipolar. First she hates Warner. Then she understands him. Then she's picking Adam. Then Warner. Then Adam... Then I'm just annoyed.
